Donald Brooks

Donald Brooks was born in St. Ann, Jamaica, where he grew up on a farm; he was raised in a home where both his parents were Christians and so every Sunday he would attend Sunday School and Church.

At the age of nineteen (19) he migrated to Canada and fell in the same Christian fellowship where he attended the Jarvis Street Baptist Church for several years and also got married in that same Church.
After several years he became a Pentecostal member at the Agincourt Pentecostal Church where he served as an Usher for many years.  He always had strong leadership in the Church as this was the only thing he knew.

He has been married for forty (40) years and both his wife, Deta and himself served as Real Estate Brokers in Canada until they returned to Jamaica in 1991 and built the Relax Resort.
They became members of Faith Temple Pentecostal Church Assembly of God, where he has been serving as the Head Usher there for twenty three (23) years.

In Twenty Eleven (2011) his sister Rev. Talsey Brooks and himself with much prayer and seeking the Lord’s direction for this concert, was inspired by the Holy Spirit to call the concert “COME CELEBRATE JESUS”.  He immediately formed a committee and put things in place.

To God be the glory for the outcome of COME CELEBRATE JESUS.

Pastor Talsey Brooks,a daughter of the parish of St. Ann, Jamaica – is a passionate and committed woman of God.

She is founder and leader of the Holy Ghost Banner Church of God in Canada, which started in 1995. Her ministry has been working assiduously in Canada to change lives and spread the gospel for several years, while providing fellowship among members. Rev. Brooks is an Associate of the Independent Assembly of God and currently hosts One-Touch Ministry, a programme which airs on Bess FM, at 6:30 p.m. on Sundays.

Born to Mr. Arthur and Rebecca Brooks, she is the 15th of 16 children. At the tender age of nine, she gave her life to the lord and has since chosen to follow that path with diligence. Her love and passion for the Lord has allowed her to travel to various parts of the world, including Europe, North America and the Caribbean, preaching and teaching the Word.

It was her dream to return to her homeland and continue her work, so after many years in Canada, she came back to Jamaica in August 2014. Since then, she has been focused on the establishment of her local Ministry the Holy Ghost Banner Prayer Assembly. As part of this thrust, she convened a Prayer Breakfast in March 2015 under the theme,” Arise, Unite & Rebuild” in Mandeville, Manchester.

Rev. Brooks is a past student of the Denham Town Secondary High School and St. Mary’s College in Jamaica and while in Canada, she attended Seneca and Durham colleges and the Canadian Christian College where she studied theology and attended numerous seminaries. She, along with her brother, Donald Brooks and his wife Deta, are driving forces behind the popular gospel concert – Come Celebrate Jesus – held in Montego Bay.

A mother of four and a grandmother, Rev Brooks hopes to grow her ministry in Jamaica, while expanding its outreach to the less fortunate and the most vulnerable in the wider society.
